Letter from the CEO
As the CEO of the Public Health Association, I feel immense pride and a deep sense of mission in leading an organization at the forefront of the efforts to improve quality of life and health for each and every person in Israel.
Since its founding in 1972, the Public Health Association has operated as a non-profit, with dedication and focus on sensitive treatment of people dealing with the disease of addiction; empowering the rehabilitation of people facing mental illnesses, people with disabilities, and disabled IDF veterans suffering from PTSD; prevention and education for health and sustainability for all segments of the population.
The Association staff are the heart and soul of our activity, and do sacred work every day. They work with dedication, passion and professionalism, while focusing on the personal and unique needs of each individual. Our sense of commitment and responsibility to the community is the engine that drives our every decision and action.
Every day, I witness the considerable impact of the Association’s activities on the lives of people all over Israel – children in kindergarten and school, who acquire essential life skills from our health and environmental promotion programs; people with mental illnesses and people with disabilities, who integrate into society and the labor market; and people dealing with addictions, who get a chance to choose life again.
The Association also goes into the streets, lending a hand to the homeless and people caught up in the cycle of prostitution, who receive not only support and guidance, but also a hug, recognition, and the sense that they are seen as fellow human beings.
Our powerful and uncompromising ethos, “Health Above All – For Everyone”, guides us in our work and constitutes the essence of our mission.
Thank you to each and every one who has contributed to our success – staff, board members, donors, volunteers, and partners. Together we will continue to work with dedication for the sake of public health.
Yours
Attorney Yasmin Nahum
